Microphlebectomy to Remove Large Varicose Veins
For veins too large to treat with sclerotherapy
When varicose veins are too large to treat with sclerotherapy, we may recommend microphlebectomy. This minimally invasive, in-office procedure takes about an hour and requires little or no down time.
We start by numbing the skin area on top of the veins. Using a small hook, we locate the problem veins and bloodlessly pull it through the skin to remove it. We repeat this process for all problem veins. You may feel a slight pulling sensation during the procedure, but shouldn’t experience any pain. Small punctures heal rapidly with an excellent cosmetic result.
What Are The Results?
A microphlebectomy leaves virtually no scars.
