Doppler Duplex Color Ultrasound Imaging
To properly treat many vein issues, we must first have an accurate diagnosis. We may use diagnostic tools – including Doppler duplex ultrasound imaging – so we can determine the extent of your vein problems. Doppler duplex ultrasound imaging allows us to obtain pictures of both deep and superficial veins.
Ultrasound technology is non-invasive and uses high frequency sound waves to produce an image on a screen. Doppler duplex ultrasound combines conventional imaging information and Doppler flow information to help our surgeons evaluate your vein-related issues.
Doppler duplex ultrasound produces images that can be color coded to show our surgeons where your blood flow is obstructed or blocked, as well as the speed and direction of your blood flow.
