Doppler Duplex Color Ultrasound Imaging
To properly treat many vein issues, we must first have an accurate diagnosis. We may use diagnostic tools – including Doppler duplex ultrasound imaging – so we can determine the extent of your vein problems. Doppler duplex ultrasound imaging allows us to obtain pictures of both deep and superficial veins.
Ultrasound technology is non-invasive and uses high frequency sound waves to produce an image on a screen. Doppler duplex ultrasound combines conventional imaging information and Doppler flow information to help our surgeons evaluate your vein-related issues.
Doppler duplex ultrasound produces images that can be color-coded to show our surgeons where your blood flow is obstructed or blocked, as well as the speed and direction of your blood flow.
