He said, “Every once in a while in your medical career, technology comes out that totally changes the way we treat a disease process and we did the first two patients in Pennsylvania last week. This is really a phenomenal new technology that I think is going to revolutionize the treatment of vein disease and make it more minimally invasive than it has been in the past. VenaSeal truly has remarkable results –– no anesthesia is required and patients basically walk out with a band-aid on.
“VenaSeal was just released by the FDA. We treated the ninth and 10th patients east of the Mississippi last week (in our Mechanicsburg offices). Studies show that it’s extremely effective –– 99% effective –– with no incidents of clots in the studies and just a remarkable treatment.”
Watch the video interview with Dr. John Rossi.
Dr. Rossi shared video animation that showed the VenaSeal gun delivering a small amount of adhesive that becomes glue in your veins.
He continued: “This adhesive is actually stretchy, so it stretches as you pull the catheter back. The operator then compresses the vein for three minutes, so basically the vein is glued shut. That’s how the vein is treated, so that eliminates the abnormal pathway by which the blood is falling backwards in your legs, pressurizing your veins and causing varicose veins. This is truly a remarkable development. The vein and the glue are then absorbed by your body and that treats your disease. A small band-aid is then placed on your leg. The patient walks out of the office.”
VenaSeal Closure System advantages include:
- Provides improved patient comfort
- Rapid return to normal activities
- No multiple needle sticks
- Minimal to no bruising
- Basically no post-procedure pain
- No post-procedure compression stockings
- No need for tumescent anesthesia on the leg
